Initial Meeting

We will discuss your preferences, wants, and needs and the type of home you are looking for. There are a plethora of different wants and needs home buyers have, and your preferences are very unique to you.

Many times location is a big deciding factor.

• Is it important for you to be in a certain school district?
• Are you trying to keep your commute to work short?
• Is there a certain neighborhood where you'd love to live?

Begin thinking about the amount of space you need, and that includes interior space and exterior space.

• Is having a big yard and lots of privacy important to you?
• Or are you on the down-sizing side of the spectrum?
• Maybe your family is getting bigger and you need more shared space.
• This is when we need to discuss the number of bedrooms, the number of bathrooms, and the necessary garage and/or parking capacity.
• Layout is often another important consideration as is the amount of storage space.

Less obvious things to consider include:

• The amount of work you are willing to do to get the home up to your move-in standards
• The amount of upkeep you are willing to do (and therefore what materials are used throughout the interior and exterior of the home)
• Are you willing to live in a Common Interest Community? These properties often have much of the yard work and exterior upkeep taken care of, with the services being paid by association fees.
