This is one of the largest lakes in Minnesota and is nearly split in two by the Ponemah peninsula. It is known for absolutely phenomenal fishing. The uppermost parts of Upper Red Lake reach north of Waskish. Most of this lake is encompassed by The Red Lake Indian Reservation.
